The Hawkins Scale is a map of levels of consciousness that shows human development from the lowest emotional and spiritual states to full enlightenment. Each level has a specific energy vibration (scaled from 0 to 1000), which directly translates into how a person perceives the world, themselves, others and how they react to life.
Scale and explanation

Here’s what each state means:
- Suffering – levels 20-100
These are the lowest levels of consciousness:
• Shame (20)
• Guilt (30)
• Apathy (50)
• Sorrow (75)
• Fear (100)
In this state, a person is contracted. Consciousness is closed, dominated by suffering, helplessness, pessimism. A person feels cut off, helpless, often unable to change anything. Life energy is very low. Life is perceived as suffering or a threat.
2. Getting by – levels 125-200
• Desire (125)
• Anger (150)
• Pride (175)
Here, a person still functions from the level of ego, but begins to have a greater influence on their life. Fear, control, and the need for recognition are still present. They operate mainly through ambition, frustration, and competition.
This is still a state of contraction (contracted) – consciousness is still closed, but more dynamic.
3. Flow – levels 250–500
• Courage (200)
• Neutrality (250)
• Willingness (310)
• Acceptance (350)
• Reason (400)
This is the moment when consciousness moves from contraction to expansion.
A person begins to expand (expanded) – they are open, creative, flexible, able to act without attachment to the result. They enter into flow.
It is not about control, but about cooperation with reality.
A deeper trust in life appears. The mind becomes clear, intentions are pure.
4. Pure Tao – levels 500–700
- Love (500)
- Joy (540)
- Peace (600)
This is a state of full expansion (expanded).
A person no longer acts from the level of logic, but from the level of the heart and inner connection with the Divine.
There is no fear, no attachment.
There is inner silence, acceptance of everything as it is.
Action becomes spontaneous, harmonious, effortless.
This is a level of presence in which everything “flows” through a person, not from them.
5. Ultimate Consciousness – levels 700-1000
• Enlightenment
Oneness with the Absolute, the Divine, the Void – without form, without ego, beyond duality.
This is a state where there is no “I”, there is only Being.
Everything is perfect, as it is.
Full expanded consciousness – encompasses everything and holds on to nothing.
